Patch 1.27.0 rolled out today as a self-described placeholder. Embark's notes say the real Riven Tides balance pass is still cooking. The thread raiders actually wanted to have was about a UI slot.

u/SurgyJack's question was plain: why does the Powered Descender live in the augmented-utility slot next to mines and ziplines.

That slot is for things you set down and walk away from. The Descender is a panic button you fire once, mid-air. Putting it beside a stack of Jolt Mines means choosing between traversal and lethality at loadout, and the 207-comment thread could not produce a defense. u/UnusualFee8053's top reply pushes it further. The Snap Hook belongs there too. Both gadgets punish you for picking them.

Embark did not touch either. Fine, it is a mini-patch. The notes promise Riven Tides balance work. The subreddit is flagging the loadout UI. Those are not the same conversation, and today the gap was loud.

The descender post was not alone. u/Jintaq sat in Stella Montis for three hours waiting for Turbine spawns that never came, and the comment section read like a focus group on broken expectations. Meanwhile u/Coilspun publicly walked back a hate on the Bettina, which since the 100k expedition push has become a perfectly good PvE rifle. None of that is in the notes either. Post-expedition raiders are doing their own audit of what works.

The meta-fight got louder

Yesterday's friendly-lobby argument did not resolve. u/absolutetoolbag's post is past 880 comments now, and the line that broke containment came from u/InsufferableLeafsFan: "I play friendly solo lobbies to fund the war crimes I commit in trios." That is the truce, in one sentence. It is not a peace treaty. It is funding.
