Embark Studios is overhauling the Trials competitive mode for Season 4. The update lands on April 29, 2026, and brings a new set of objectives, a revamped reward track, and some long-requested quality-of-life fixes.
The biggest structural change is the removal of double progress from major Map Conditions. Previously, matching a specific weather event or map rotation could double a raider's weekly progress. That multiplier is gone. Challenges locked behind weather or map events are also being retired wholesale, a move that should make the grind less dependent on luck.
In their place, new objective types push raiders toward melee combat, gadget usage, and looting specific container types. Raiders will be asked to down ARCs with melee strikes, secure kills using particular gadgets or grenades, and rummage through specific container types scattered across the Rust Belt. The Trials loop - unlocked after hitting level 15 and rerolled weekly - now tests a wider set of skills.
The reward track has been rebuilt around a new cosmetic set. Participation earns the Blindspot Outfit, awarded at the Tryhard I rank. Higher ranks unlock alternate colors at Hotshot and Cantina Legend. Reaching Daredevil rank grants the River Dance emote, alongside a backpack color, a charm, and an attachment.
One long-standing pain point remains. Embark has not split the leaderboards between Solo and Trios. Raiders can still group up to farm objectives more efficiently, and the studio has acknowledged the disparity. For now, the climb is the same for lone raiders as for fireteams.
